So as many of you know (all 4 of you ;)) something has been stirring for me lately. Like a big BIG shift! I feel like I am waking up and feeling mortal or something. It’s like I’ve just realized that I am not a cat and I don’t have nine lives.
I really REALLY have a great life! I mean I have this ROCK STAR job where I get to help High School kids find their inner songwriter and rock star! Some of them were so shy at the beginning of the year when I suggested that they write some lyrics, you would have thought I asked them recite the entire constitution and then pour honey over themselves and hang out with some bees… different story now that they are near the end of the year and have gained some confidence…so amazing to witness! Which I guess one could say the same for me. Three years ago when I walked into my first classroom to sub math of all things, I was terrified!!! I was like “who am I to be a teacher, who am I to guide anyone let alone young people who will remember me as a character in their movie for years to come…really who am I to be that?”
Well, I am now waking up to the fact that I believe it is our duty on this planet to inspire and share our gifts! In whatever form that is. Whether it is with our vocation, relationships, family, friends or the cashier at our local market. Just though our personalities and smiles I think we can bring so much to this world.
That being said, I am going for it! I am still learning what that means for me personally but I am following my drive and my heart like never before! I am doing my best to STAY OUT OF MY OWN WAY! Again I am lucky enough to know my vices and know how to keep them at bay. It is a daily process….but I am excited!
I guess more will be revealed as I go and as I have more to share with you! On that note be well my lovely friends and I know you are spreading your light wherever you go!
